An ideal cocktail after a long day. Summer evening or winter by the fire.

30ml Bathans

15ml sugar syrup

2 good dashes Angostura Orange Bitters

TO MAKE SUGAR SYRUP: Dissolve 1 cup of sugar in 1 cup of boiling water. Leave to cool.

Muddle the Angostura Bitters with the sugar syrup in the bottom of a glass. Add ice and pour over the Bathans Gold. Swirl to combine.

Orange twist to garnish.

This is an excellent Summer drink to enjoy outside in the sun or at the races.

10ml lemongrass-infused sugar syrup

150ml Dry Ginger Ale

TO MAKE THE SYRUP, take 3 stalks of lemongrass and tenderise with a rolling pin. Add to saucepan with 250ml of water and 1/2 cup of caster sugar. Bring to boil and simmer for 15min. Leave to cool. Mix all ingredients in a whisky tumbler, half filled with crushed ice. Garnish with a lime wedge and a fresh lemongrass stalk.

TURKISH BATHANS

Our take on the classic Espresso Martini but with a Middle Eastern flavour, without the Turkish Bath!

60ml Bathans Gold

60ml Turkish Coffee (coffee grounds, 1 tsp cardamon, 1/2 tsp cloves)

30ml coffee liqueur

30ml cream

TO MAKE TURKISH COFFEE: In a standard stovetop espresso maker, add coffee grounds plus 1 tsp of ground cardamon and 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves. Allow to cool. Pour Bathans Botanical Somel, coffee and coffee liqueur into an ice-filled cocktail shaker. Shake vigorously, and pour into Martini glass or Champagne saucer. Pour cream on top and garnish with three roasted coffee beans or chocolate-covered coffee beans.
